Alnmouth Christmas Lights

Thanks to the hard work of the Christmas Light Committee, which is a Sub-committee of the Parish Council, Alnmouth is decorated each Christmas with an impressive display of Christmas Lights, including large Christmas trees at each end of Northumberland Street. The Committee is generously supported by the Village in raising funds to pay for the lights, not to mention by the householders who allow the lights to be placed on their property and provide free electricity!

Switching on the lights is a major village event marking the start of the Christmas season in Alnmouth. The shops keep open later into the evening, Santa comes to meet the children, and a large crowd enjoys the spectacle and the party atmosphere.
